I honestly don’t know if this post is going to do justice to the way my heart has been burdened for this country. My dear friend Brittany has spent time living in Niger among the Hausa people and has shared with me their incredible brokenness and need for the gospel. Of all the people groups in the country of Niger, 85% of them are unreached with the gospel. The country is 94% Islamic and 5% ethnic religions, leaving less than 1% of the population as Christian. Oh friends, this is such a dark place. Witch doctors and Satanic rituals are so prevalent. Families are broken and children are considered nearly worthless. Living conditions are extremely difficult and there is little joy. And above it all THEY DON’T KNOW JESUS. Oh I pray that your hearts would be burdened by this fact. Please join me in praying that the people of Niger would be awakened to the futility of their rituals and prayers to a God who cannot save them. Pray that the Christians in Niger would be faithful witnesses to the Gospel and will not lose sight of the eternal significance of their work of making disciples among the Hausa people. I am thankful that I can rest in the knowledge that God is good and has a wonderful purpose to bring glory to Himself through these people, but right now they desperately need Jesus and they don’t even know it. Please pray that the name of Jesus will be boldly proclaimed and that the saving grace of God will drastically change the country of Niger.
