Welcome, friend. I know this life can be heavy and hard. My desire is that my words would bring you hope, healing, truth, and rest; that my words would be a reminder to you that you are not alone, that God is good, and that there is hope.

The nature of writing and sharing publicly compels me to consider my heart behind why I do it. Here are some questions I return to when I consider why and when to share my writing publicly.

my heart aches with a tangle of emotions as mother’s day approaches—our first with our miracle baby in our arms. i hurt deeply for the ones i love who are still longing and who are grieving losses. and, in many ways, my mind and my heart still hold the sorrow of many years of mother’s days spent in tears.
✨ one month with our Charlie girl ✨
Lord, you created women to be nurturers,
they came to him with a simple request—with hungry bellies longing to be filled. just yesterday he had performed a miracle that allowed thousands to eat their fill. but today their stomachs rumbled again with a good desire: food.
✨ the tiniest little newborn details that i never ever want to forget ✨
✨ april ✨ forever marked as the month that our lives permanently shifted. spring blossoming in the trees and in our hearts.
✨ she’s here. born just after noon on thursday at 10lbs 6oz, 22 inches, with blue eyes and a head full of hair. we are absolutely smitten and we just can’t believe she’s ours.

i’m still brought near to tears when i think about how sweet this past weekend was. three dear friends who have been in the trenches with me and who have faithfully prayed for baby B threw us the most stunning baby shower.
✨moments of joy from january (and december)
our journey here was filled with mountains and valleys, highs and lows, joy and pain. but every step (and every year of waiting) led us to this particular and sacred little life, for which we are so incredibly thankful.
i know it seems like

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith – more previous than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire – may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
