“Remember it is I who orchestrate the events of your life. Don’t try to figure out what is happening. Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all. I know the plans I have for you, and they are good.”
These words came to mind while I was spending time in God’s Word recently. They convicted me and challenged me.
It’s so difficult to let go and allow God to lead.
It’s more comforting to know what is coming next. To have some sort of plan for how life will go.
However, most often, at least in my case, God does not comfort me by giving me a perfectly laid out plan for my future. He does not reveal to me what He is doing and why He is doing it. I could get so frustrated by this (and oftentimes I do) or I could stop seeking comfort in a plan and instead start seeking comfort in Him.
Trust.
Trust in His love and in His sovereignty and in His perfectly mysterious plan.
“But I trusted in Your steadfast love, my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
– Psalm 13:5-6
Even when it seems easier to doubt and fear and question – instead trust, rejoice, sing.
Praise the Lord for what He is doing in every moment, for He is good. Always.
